Free 22oz Triax

I have about 2-3m of 22oz trix that has a run down the middle. The roll is about 12" wide, and because of the run we can't use it for snowboards, but it could probably be used for skis. Either side of the run looks good. First person to email me at james AT classfivesnowboards DOT com gets the ...

Free UHMW

I have a box of offcut 2mm white UHMW. There are between 30 and 40 pieces of approx 9"wide X 7"long with a curved top (leftover from cutting tip filler from building snowboards before we realized how inefficient we were cutting them). They are dusty but can be cleaned. I think that each pi...

Some Vids

Hey guys, I put up a new site a little while ago and now I have some teaser vids on it where some of the riders are on Class 5ive snowboards. All the Class 5ive boards are hand built by myself. You can check them out by going to http://www.class5ive.com/ and then going to the news section. The first...

Snowboarding in South America

Hey guys, My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to South America for early fall. This forum is pretty diverse so I figured some people would have experience riding in SA. We are planning to do a week in Chile and a week in Argentina. Any suggestions of places to go or places to stay away from? We ...

I have an ibeam press very similar in design to the one you picture above. My beams are w10x49, so they are very heavy, but I was worried about underbuilding the thing. I press at 60psi in the hoses. I noticed very little deflection of the beams upwards, although I haven't measured to see how much t...

I know that Option snowboards uses pre-cured fiberglass. This glass is cured under tension and pressure as a seperate peice. The cured glass is then used to build the snowboard. The bonus with precured glass is that you can use the top layer of glass as the topsheet. Is this what you are thinking ab...

I think that if your heart is set on a clamp press, then your going to have to try a clamp press. The number one thing with any of this stuff is to do what you want. That is why we all read these forums, because we want to do our own thing. How about combining the fire hose concept with the clamp pr...

I am sure you have thought of these things but here are my thoughts: I would double check your epoxy measuring and perhaps do a test section with your epoxy. Go through each step of the process ask yourself what went wrong and how you can fix it. Also, most of the presses that I have seen on this si...

Greg, thanks for the info. Kelvin, I think that the wires must have been shorting out. The wires melting together were actually outside of the press and lightly touching each other. In the next few weeks I'll see what I can get working. I also have a great resource as I consider my brother to be an ...

I bought a heated blanket from a second hand store a couple weeks ago. I ripped the whole thing apart to get the heating coils out. I hooked it all up to my top cassette and it seemed to heat the cassette up nicely. I did a test run with pressure and something happened. The heated "wires" ...
