Ahhh, got it. Are you saying you'd have to sand the sheets before layup, or are you thinking during finishing?

Interestingly enough k2 has the patent for horizontally laminated cores and uses them in much of their boards. Their bambooyah core is horizontally laminated. It's also nearly indestructible and super light. Good point about resins and voc. Will need to look into that more. I know the stuff is super...

Thanks guys. I really want to stay away from resins entirely. I'm thinking way outside of the box here, maybe too far? Pre cured fiberglass/carbon sheets. Cut to shape, pre layup (water jet?) Horizontally laminated multi species cores. Cut to shape, pre layup and then stacked for proper core profile...

Back and looking forward to building!

Haven't built anything for five years or so. My awesome 2.5 yr old wants to build skateboards and snowboards. He thinks it's super cool that dad rides a snowboard that he built himself. Little dude rips on skate and snow. I doubt we will make much progress until spring, but I will probably occasiona...

Air Bladder

I have a lot of air bladder material. Make an offer. This is the stuff that I got from K2 when they closed Vashon. I don't remember exact width, but I think it's 6" when flat as I used 3 to make my bladder assembly. I also have a bladder assembly. I think it's 200-220cm long. Clamped and all ai...

Grindrite

SB600 Need to get rid of it now. $400.00 includes belts, water basin, pump, runs great. 220v. I also have a bunch of air bladder material, some resin, and some inserts. Prefer you to pick it up in Kent, although I will ship it if necessary. I don't remember how to post pics here, so here's a link to...

Turning 40 in a few weeks and I feel like it's time to start focusing on quality over quantity. That being said, I will probably t...

Married an amazing women and we are doing a ton of traveling. Hawaii, Belize, China, Denver, Atlanta, and Jamaica in 2013. 2014 is starting off with P...

Selling it all

So, I need to come up with a definitive list, but I wanted to throw some feelers out so you all can start thinking about what you may want to purchase. I would prefer to sell everything together as one lot, but could be convinced to do otherwise. 1. Heavy Duty steel press. Fully adjustable camber pl...

worst thing you can do for the bond is wire brush them or sand them.

The sand blasting creates a pitted surface, which assists in bonding.

Made it up to Alpy much yet? We'll be up every Tuesday starting week after next.
Just super busy with my real job.

Been up to central twice, but no alpy yet. Planning on riding a bunch this week, as I am taking the week off.
