Hmm

Hmm that's so strange, because I've been to about 10 stores and haven't found it anywhere. I'm not finding a retailer online either. I can find dovetails but not this.
It's not at Ace online...

Thanks

Thanks for the good answers. The reason I'm using fir is because it's cheap and I can buy it already laminated so it's much easier. Ash is really expensive especially when I need someone to cut it up for me. And then I need to laminate and so on. As I don't have a good workplace this is a lot of wor...

Ripping bindings

Hi I've made a pair of skis with a fir core and a 22 oz glassfiber layer above, then a cotton layer and top sheet. First I mounted my Dukes and ripped them after 2 days of skiing (this also broke the binding) then I had a store mount them with alpine bindings (Rossi FKS) using the kind of inserts th...

Don't get me wrong, I think it's probably the way to go to get the quality needed.

PM gears old factory?

Maybe we should call it PM gears old factory since they're outsourcing the production to a big factory in Europe now.
But maybe they'll keep it for prototypes

Ok maybe true...

I want more of everything :D
For four pairs of fat skis, have to try some different designs.

Tip and tail spacers
Glassfiber
Basematerial (preferably in funny colors)
Topsheet
Edges (preferably thick)
Thin aluminium (titanal)

Thanks

Skibuilders store response??

I've been trying to contact the Skibuilders store, sent 2 mails. The first one about a week ago, haven't got any response.
I want to order but I need to know how much the shipping is to Norway. Are they out of town? :)

Cutting board

The cutting boards I have are actually really flexible. They're like 8-9 mm thick now and I can easily flex them by hand. If I get them down to 3 mm they'll be sweet. But I don't know if they'll bond. Anyone got any other tips for the connection? This must have been done tons of times by people here...

Re: Vacuum connection and tipspacer material questions

normally such things can be bought anywhere they have all the vacuum setup stuff. That's just the thing, it's not that easy to find around here. If I could have gone into a store and bought one I would have :P you definately could go without tipspacers - i never used them. maybe put an extra layer ...

Vacuum connection and tipspacer material questions

Hi tried searching but... How have you made the vacuum connection to the plastic bag? I was thinking I might use 2 small funnels inside one another, and cut them off. Put one on the inside, then plastic and maybe some sealant like silicone, and then the other one on top. Or is it a part that can be ...

Doesn't wallpaper have a glossy, smooth surface? There may be a bonding problem but a little test try would let you know. This might be an issue with wallpaper. They make them so that they can be washed. Meaning that they probably have some sort of coating. Like wax or plastic. Maybe I'll have to try

Paper graphics

Has anyone used paper as graphics? Namely wallpaper. I'm having trouble finding textiles with cool graphics but I've found a lot of wallpapers with really cool graphics.

Would this cause delam problems?

Thanks

Ok

Hi, I'm in Tromsø. Ok so I found this link: http://www.dream-models.com/eco/vacuumpump.html Maybe I can do that. The difficult part to get will be the "admission advance regulation valve", the thing that creates the vacuum. And how to create a tight fit around the hose that goes into the b...
