This may be common sense but I almost screwed up the first base template I made. If you use a paper template be sure that the template is straight before cutting anything. I taped my paper template down to the masonite I planned on using as a router template, as a double check I placed my aluminum ...

Screwed up routing the core

So I had a little mishap routing the core. The dimensions are 3.5 mm at the tip/tail and 13.5 at the midpoint. But about 10 cm from the end, the core rose up off the router table and I routed a little to deep. It came be about 2.75 mm at this point. My question is whether to put this mishap at the t...

Quick update here..... Finished up the template tonight. We settled on dimensions of 132-93-119. I used a jigsaw to cut out the template. I know some people have access to water cut templates and what not but all I really had was a jigsaw so I made due. It needs some fine sanding to knock down littl...

A first timers attempt

So I've started building a pair (actually with the assistance of my cousin who's also a first timer). As of now we've only built the core profiler and laminated ONE core, im planning on laminating the second today. I may be doing things slightly out of order but my theory was I might as well figure ...

Re: Terrible problems with rails for core profiler

i take 5mm thick mdf, draw the wanted taperingprofile on it an then... work with a jigsaw as accurate as possible. followed by a threatment with a single cut file. as the drawed on tapering profile is still visible you can grind down the excess mdf very precicely to the line. the 5mm stuff is very ...

Terrible problems with rails for core profiler

So I had some issues cutting the rails for my core profiler today. First tried a jigsaw...that sucked....tried a skil saw after which was better...but still ended up sucking...I can't get one even rail nevermind being able to cut two. Tommorow I'm going to a buddy's house to use his table saw which ...
