Core profiling without a core profiler?
Hi, I'm looking to make some cores for skiboards. They aren't exactly the biggest cores in the world, the cores of my current 85 cm skiboards must be like 70cm long, maybe a little longer. I don't really want to make a core profiler just for some skiboard cores. Could the cores be profiled with a ha...

Ok. I thought that side to side, maybe the ski wasn't flat. I dunno what I was thinking, I was a little tired last night. As for the length of the ski, does the core have to have some shape to it, if I'm doing skiboards? The orange ones in that pic are the same thickness allaround. I think the stiff...

Race skis?
I'm getting into slalom racing this season. My skis are some volkl p50's which are about dead, they started delam'ing at the tails (JB welded them back up, came apart again), and the edges are starting to kind of blow up front (edges are pushing the base out). So, maybe instead of spend like $400 on...

Ham, You over on Epic too? I wouldn't use this, for a few reasons. -Polyester/Vinylester RESIN does not flex very well -Resins are not very good at bonding to the materials used in skis (wood, plastic, rubber, metal). -Resin has a shelf life. If your dad used it a few years ago, it's probably gone ...

Ok. Well, with skiboards, I am also not looking for a lot of flex, if any, really. It seems to take a fair bit of force to get boards to flex. Maybe not 'real' skiboards flex more, but 'real' skiboards, from my experience, don't really flex. I do have a pair of some free elans that are like snowblad...

Fridge compressor as a vacuum pump?
This is not intended to be a "don't let that refrigerant into the atmosphere" argument. :D Out back, I have a few fridge and freezer compressors. I was going to make one work as a vacuum pump, for pulling a vacuum on my car's air conditioning. My question is, would a fridge compressor work...

Would this epoxy work?
Hi, I have some "bondo" brand fiberglass resin epoxy stuff kicking around the garage, that I would like to use. I searched bondo, but everyone just seemed to think about body filler, it seemed. No way I'd use bondo body filler on my cars (so tough to sand), but as for the resin, would it w...
