Ski press for sale along with some ski building materials

I am selling my cordura style ski press. I have it posted on craigslist in Boulder. You can check out our journal page for info of how it works and what we did over the past decade.

has anyone here used the type of fire hose I have posted right above this that has two different layers. The outer layer is a heavy canvas and the inner material is a rubber layer with another thin layer of canvas like material on the outside of it. I think it will hold air but I haven't actually us...

25 feet of hose left, slightly different

I still have 25 feet of 8.25" wide (when flat) fire hose. The price is still $2 per foot. I will only ship this within the US. I have shipped 4 or 5 packages around the US from the hose above and it was always around $25-35 just so you can get an idea. That was fedex ground. Jayski, if you want...

11th pair

We finished my skis this past week. They turned out really nice. I did end up cutting some of the whales back off. They are the same as my brothers pair but they have 1" carbon fiber on top of the core instead of the 3" wide cf. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-7CmpylQFbjo/Tu0wvQr7UFI/AA...

When do you put the fish scales on the base material? Before you even route them out with your template or after the entire ski is made? Seems smarter to do before you even start I guess but it could be done afterwards if you are careful. I put my first ski in the press today and it went pretty smoo...

Sammer - we just bought that same router bit you recommended and it is pretty awesome. I got the 1/4" version to go on our Colt "baby" router. It leaves the base material very smooth. Whiteside router bits are not cheap but worth it.

Sammer, I can't access mtbr for some odd reason. It is like they have blocked my ip. I have tried to just browse their forums in the past but it always just gives me the "oops google chrome could not ..." error message. I don't understand.

New 2011 Skis

After a long hiatus from skibuilding and with our BTSR approaching a big sideways 8 it was time to get building again. Over the past two weeks my brother and I (with lots of help from our parents) built two pairs of skis and have a third ready to roll hopefully this weekend. We have been skiing our ...

building bikes?

I know, I know ... this is a skibuilding forum, but has anyone here built a bike frame? I am starting to do research on building bamboo bike frames and want to see as many pictures of simple bike jigs as possible.

I think Chrismp is correct ... there are many ways to build a ski that works for you. We do not use heat and we do have a fabric press that is about 8" wide (so one ski at a time). We press between 40 and 50psi. One thing to note is we use wood sidewalls (ash, sometimes poplar or maple or cherr...

If you don't rabbit your sidewall. The person who does your base-grinds will come to you and complain about how it took 200 pass's on the robot to clean up, and how he missed warren miller working for you, and then expect dinner and beer... we don't do the rabbit our sidewall and have perfectly fla...

Emo, your hose went out today. I think we have just around 20 feet left now. I don't really want to ship to Canada but if you are in a bind email me at emrysdothallatgmaildot com and we can see if we can figure it out.

would the air cores make mounting a binding tricky? I would think that bindings would be more prone to ripping out.
