Yep, sounds like that was likely the cause. Not to just continue pressing or take the time to pull it out and fix it this second....

I'm having a bit of a hard time working out how the circular router bit could form a 90 degree angle. It can't. Route + razor blade and you are done. That is why I find it easier if there is no curve there at all. Straight section allows me to cut straight to the template, then follow the template ...

Hose Leak - Any ideas?

We have a leak on the end of one of our hoses. Our spare hose set up is already in use in our other press after one of our first set ups....had a little fire incident. Anyway, are new hoses are still like a week away and I will probably press 60-70 pairs in that time...... Hose is a 5" diameter...

3/4 wrap = decrease delam issues. Full wrap edge restrict the flex of the tip, so instead of energy being released by a slight increase in tip/tail flex, it ends up breaking down the bonds of the epoxy increasing the risk of delams. K2 actually did a study on it in the 80's (believe so) that conclud...

I got a question for you Scott, where did you find the bottles you're using for the hardener ? When I received my epoxy (small quantities for now), the resin was in a 1 gallon can and the hardener in a 1 quart container. Both containers are really not friendy to use for dispensing so I'm trying to ...

Iggy: are the 2x4's on the press just there to set the casket on so its easier to slide them in? yes. We used to prebent our edges/bases and use prebent cassettes, but with our thicker edges we've been having issues prebending, so we are now laying up flat. So to help me get the cassette in myself,...

I'm glad you guys brought this up here. I didn't feel it would be appropriate to discuss on TGR - How has sidewall bonding been with the extra VDS? I'm assuming you made quite a few protos with different configurations? How was bonding with just one strip along the base? For some reason I can't wra...

Iggy, amazing what you have done in the past year. Keep up the good work. I saw in your video that you were using 10mm wide VDS on the three different layers on your BG's. Do you like the narrow VDS ok? It is ok. Definitely requires much more exact placement and the correct amount of epoxy to ensur...

will one of the 13" planers from home depot work? Like the ridgid for 350 dollars. It will with the right set up. The ridgid is pretty good. It is what I used in Tacoma, though it was the older version. It is all about having the correct set up. Josiah - if you want to hear a bit about what we...

FS: ~ 120 pairs worth of Prebent Edges

Just got our second shipment of 186cm Billy Goat edges...to find that they are all the 1.3mm x 2.2mm edge, while we use the 1.7mm x 2.5mm edge. CDW doesn't need them back and we cannot use them....so if anyone wants them we would let em go cheap. Sandblasted and Primed edges. They are bent for a ski...

I think scott at On3P has some of these they aren't using that he probably would sell, but I know he's super slammed right now, so it might not be worth bothering him.
I have 4-5 that I won't be using for now. Let me know if you are interested.

I had no problems bending 1/16" aluminum for our molds/cassettes last year using a paint can. Takes a bit of fine tuning, but worked great. It is what I use this year as well.
