looking great!

feeding the sander from the backside is really very dangerous
DO NOT TRY IT
the motor i used can be changed from clockwise spinning to anticlockwise by swapping contacts

work safe and enjoy your new toy!

you wont need rollers if you screw the core down against a nice flat and solid crib
i ve built some basic rollers with steel rods, skatebearings in a plywood case and spings from a desk lamp:

hey badner, thats intresting beware of the weight as concrete is about 2,5 tons/m^3: a 7cm thick slab, 180*33 (for 2 skis) will be 100kg there are concrete additives (plastisizers etc) to increase strength and reduce shrinkage. try to use a very dry mix. the less the water the greater the stregnt. k...

I am using a 36 grit al ox 3M cloth. It turns popalr into hairs rather than into dust and it seems that it ll last for ever. i still like to preshape the cores with a hand planer before sanding to save time. I can get away with 4-5 drum passes after that. I can't explain why, but i am sure i did not...

Heres another http://www.rockslide.org/drum%20sander.html Been planning on building one similar to the above myself jvangelder, nice design for grindig bases too, a larger diameter drum may be preferable on the other hand if you plan to use it only for woodwork you might want to keep it slim. a sma...

carlito, great work!
can you please clarify the following:
how you prevent wood dam from sticking to the board?
there is a groove on the dams for the edge, does that mean that a part (or the hole) top side of the edge is left exposed (no fg -resin there)?
waiting to see it finished
thanks

charge more for them
