Base/Topsheet Materials Europe/Germany

i just noticed north american and canadian skibuilders are really blessed with crown plastics offering you an online shop for materials in affordable quantities. PE rolls from 40 - 100m, just great! :) thats something i really miss here in europe, especially germany/austria. we have manufactorers fo...

mattman wrote:so how does the topsheet cap the titanal?
you may not expect a topsheet like we use it (0,4-0,8mm nylon, pbt, whatwever) there are some methods that could be used instead: thin adhesive foil, coated, powder coating etc

i saw something at 1:17 in the second video that made me thinking about it: "SANDWICH COMPUND SIDEWALL TITANIUM". i think they re shaping the titanal cap 3D to form the "IQ track", and wrap it with fibres/prepregs etc to increase stability. this forms the topsheet of the ski bein...

im a lazy bender, especially the tip/tail area never fits too perfect... i keep the tines under the base and press the edges to fit the radii without any gaps, hopefully not to pop of when finished or while pressing.most times it works.. are your edges bend exactly to fit without any force when glui...

maybe its not the binding, more my boots... i ski the yellow/black scarpa t1, they have a very rough profile, like boots for hiking. snow sticks to the profile and gets pressed by every tele-step... maybe like MM said, a combination of waxing the metal-base and a teflon coating (spray?) for the boat...

ice under ball of the foot (telemark bindings)

when i go off piste with telemarks it takes only a few turns and i have lots of snow and ice under my ball of the foot, which is very uncomfortable - i ride "linken pro" bindings. i guess its the same nerve-racking thing with any other telemark binding when skiing backcountry or freeride. ...

... Orange, your not using ordinary superglue are you? i am. the edges of the bases i tried to bend with slip rollers were bend and attached crappy, so they popped of i guess. i ll keep on bending this way but putting more efforts in clean edge fitting and gluing. should work. my rocker moulds dont...

never leave your compressor plugged for about 4 weeks unobserved. loosen screws may result in oil loss that causes a dry run with several hundreds euros of damage.
watching out fpr spare parts i recognized what a financial investment that good old german kaeser is... or was.

im using one like this to bend my cassettes and bases with attached edges: http://tinyurl.com/3lsgqlg if not glued and pressed on every teeth, the edge pops of sometimes. the 2 adjusting knobs are to lift or deepen the upper roll. the maximum material thickness is 2mm, so edges fit in narrow. i dont...
