Are you claiming that this: http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/@0_mall/auc-kunita/cabinet/00860668/img56451417.jpg is just a bullshit and that they are actualy using another construction then they advertise? Why would line do that? Also could you please explea...

I think the Line afterbang use 7 layers of vaneer. Two full lenght right over the base then one crossed, lengthwise, crossed, lengthwise and again one full length as a top sheet. I also want to try to build a ski like that but it takes me much too long. At least I have the bases cut out now. How are...

Also I want you to know that nobody spoke here about an ordinary plywood from local hardware store. the €12/m base is 1.3 mm so I cant even try it out. Anyway I have already bought the 1.2
Thanks for comments!

Hopefully I will have soon everything to start with layup. Now I am looking for some triax, resin and pretty much everything needed to vacuum layup except the pump.

I am going to press my first pairs with vacuum so there will be no high pressure at all. I think i will give it a try - its € 100 for almost 30 m of 30 cm wide base. If the price € 12/m from boarbuildingsupply is a usual price then it should be a good deal?

I dont get the difference between 1.3 and 1.2 according the concave base. Do you mean with the 1.2 you dont have any acces material at the edge to grind off to get a flat base?

is 1.2 mm base OK?

Hello,

I could have a 1.2 mm base material for a really nice price. As I understand it most of you are using 1.3 mm material. Shold I expect some problems with the 1.2 material?

Thank you for a quick reply!

Light, flexible and bondable to epoxy, right? any other important features? In the Howto section the tipspacers just cop...

As I want to try to build the ski with horizontal laminated core I would lay up both skis together on one piece. On this way I hope both skis will come out same. Do you think that a prebend tips will come to its original shape in contact with resin? maybe a mold just for tips would help? How about a...

Hi Davide!

where did you source the plywood from? I have been looking nearly everywhere and all I can find is 3mm poplar or 3 mm birch but in max. length of 150 cm. Is your bottom layer from one piece of ply or did you have to put two together?

Cheers

Jiri

actually it should be a soft ski for powder days only with about 130 underfoot - I measured the thicknes of Hellbents and they are about 10 mm underfoot and they have about the right flex. as for the sandpaper - I am planning to use 3 layers of 3 mm ply in different lenghts to make the flex pattern....
