If you have to slide some mdf on mdf... no problem! it is really easy, but you can add a layyer of aluminium or something like that so it will be easier.
I tried with 2 planks of mdf and it works fine, but I didn't put the mold on it... so it could be more difficult with the mold on it...

Yop I did read your post ;-)

It is a great idea to deal with this "height problem". The thing that I doesn't really like is that you have to manipulate two bottle jacks....

Hi everybody! The probleme of making an adjustable height press is the cost (hydraulic cylinders). The best and cheapest alternative (my opinion) is to make a sort of drawer like that... http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=ca6e21ac53c2f2033b1feb19c717e791 You only move the bottom mold...

You need to use an air bladder for pressure, which I think you're already planning on? Your "adjusters" need to not be plastic, and should run full width. To avoid deflection you are going to have to have a very thick bottom plate. Why shouldn't I use plastic adjusters? I planned to use A...

Yack. How far apart are those adjuster plastic? I don't know how far they are on the birdos' press but you can count 17 or 18 adjuster plastic and you can imagine that he doesn't build skis taller than 2m..... about 10-12cm looks good guys. I love the roller ideas. Are you planning on using a full ...

That looks awesome, I really like the idea of the rollers. That's what the floors look like in our freighter/tanker airplanes (I work for Boeing). Would make layup/pressing VERY easy! Good luck on building it! Thank you Twizzstyle! We will need a lot of luck for building that press how can you adju...

FreeShaper adjustable ski press

Hi everybody! On the french ski builders community we started to elaborate a ski/snowboard press which we can adjust easily to our needs. We red a lot on this forum and on others... We tried to take the best "technology" of each press style for our press. You can find the topic here: http:...

to adjust the camber you could make something like that:

and for the top mold you can use the White Crystal method : Image

I would say that it is the best way to adjust your mold

I asked The Whyte Crystal Family about their silicon top cassette (http://www.skibuilders.com/phpBB2/viewt ... cap+rubber ) and they told me they have used it only one time, because the result wasn't really good....

Plan

Hi Strangesnowboarding,

Your press is amazing! I don't really understand how the adjustable camber works... Do you have to adjust manually?

Did you draw a plan (perhaps a 3D plan) of this press? If you did, I would be very interest to see the plan.

best regards from switzerland
