I should buy it shouldn't I? http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff104/montuckymadman/015.jpg Ah yes, I got tipped off as well this past week while staying with some friends in Bozangles. From what I got out of asking about it, it hasn't been used that much. $700 is a helluva price, but the width is...

I have been doing some research in anticipation of building my first press. So far seems like I-beams are the only way to go. I was hoping to try something lighter weight that can be broken down into sections and moved if need be. Mongo was having trouble with his camber and seems like if I would h...

Decent bit from Signal on making a primarily wood snowboard. It might not entirely translate to skis, but based on the couple of splitboards I have made for friends and the relevant torsional forces across that wide of a dimension involved I would say the lack of structural competence for a entirely...

Yes. Do this. It is pretty universal that this is a necessary step if you want a flat base. The easiest way is to get a bottom bearing rabbeting bit with the appropriate standoff between the OD of the tool and OD of the bearing to match your edge tooth width against your sidewall overhang. Hand held...

The 0 degree should be in the warp, or long axis, direction running parallel with the stitching. Call them up and get them to take care of it as I don't see anything on their website that matches what you have described. They might have sent you a pain weave or 2 by 2 in a higher weight by accident ...

Ski Design and Legal Implications

Here is a good read regarding the whole "who invented rocker/early rise/5 point design/etc." Haven't seen it posted here yet, but provides some decent analysis regarding both the existing claims and relative infringements. http://www.gnolls.org/557/alpine-ski-patent-slap-fight-armada-vs-ro...

Looks to me like a thickness sander and not a planer. We had the same machine in a shop I used to work in and it works beautifully with the typical planer crib setup. Now I want to go buy one for myself.

I have been doing this as a thicknessing operation prior to doing a 0.1 inch depth pass with my CNC machine to achieve the final core thickness. I attach the midpoint of my core at the center of my crib with a couple of 1/8" clamps I made so the clearance allows me to make the tip and tail pass...

Apparently this is the story. When I was cold curing I got great information from them with regard to their MrFiberglass epoxy specs compared to West System. Sad turn of events.

Similar to other ski/snowboard forums with a recommended shop list, I am going to throw out where I have gotten my materials from with the appropriate contact information and a little review of each merchant. What are the graphics printed on? Did you use Rice paper? All of the graphics were printed out on regular old laser printer paper. THe grey areas are "trigger fabric" (the weave looks like really lightweight canvas). I had a 12"x12" dye sub setup ordered back in 2008, but cancel...
