I'll be the voice of reason here. Until you answer these three questions you are better off putting the $100 into savings for a down payment on a "real" machine or parts for a purpose built homemade sander. I'm not saying you can't or won't find answers to these questions (this forum is no...

You probably know this on the water but put filter paper in the collection tray over the mesh: http://www.svst.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=FP25&Category=8ed4aa48-7e98-4875-ac72-c7e2eec6cff5 Its cheap and will keep things from clogging up. Good luck getting the old girl running. Montucky--noticed you ...

Fischer uses a lot of this technology in their nordic and alpine skis, but the materials are definitely not "cardboard." Volkl's aircore snowboards used "wood pulp" material in the corrugated/honeycomb sections. The aircore boards from the early '00s rode really well, but didn't ...

I can't speak to the performance/engineering parts of the question. It has been done. Bruce who builds Coiler boards does a version of this by cutting camber into the base side of his cores. You can search for coiler on the forum here, on the interwebs, or at bomberonline and you should find a good ...

You've probably already tried this on the circular saw, but if you haven't it's probably worth spending $10 on a rip fence for your circular saw before throwing down on a table saw and blades. I can only speak for cutting wood, but they work really well and should give you cuts that are about as str...

If you do try it, let us know how it works out. For the repair application we've done it a variety of ways, both the over under weave as well as wrapping each tine so basically around/over/around if that makes any sense.
Have fun.

I'd suggest giving the string method a try. I'm new to building skis and boards but have done a lot of repair work and have had a lot of success with different versions of the string technique doing edge replacements on blown edges. Our technique at the shop I worked at was to use a strand of fiberg...
