Any idea how I can put the shaft in the pillow block bearing without violence? I bought a stainless chromium steel tube with the the same diameter as the bearings (30mm) but it looks like it does not fit :( As you see I am currently collecting all the material for this project... good progress so fa...

I am really interested to see more about your project!

I am just wondering how much core material can be taken away with one pass through the thic.kness sander.

Thickness Sander

I stumbled across this homemade thickness sander today:

http://woodgears.ca/sander/thickness.html

Very well documented: http://woodgears.ca/sander/plans/index.html

What do you think, would this work for Ski-/Snowboard-/Kiteboard-Building?

I would prefer an oil-free pump (=maintenance free). Search Ebay for Thomas, Becker or KNF Neuberger. I bought a used KNF for around 50€ on Ebay and the pump works perfect. I let it run over night if I press a kiteboard.

Right now I am building a kiteboard with Paulownia wood from Bauhaus. The problem is that the Paulownia board tends to wrap because it is glued together from only three stripes. I think I will cut the board in thinner stripes and glued them together again to avoid the problem for the next time. The ...

Reto mixed his epoxy in an empty bio yoghurt cup. So just fun... ;)

I'am building kiteboards with a vacum setup. I let the pump run for 24 hours because mostly there is a little leak anywhere.

Plywood has posted this in an earlier thread: [...] then you have to set a area-heat-output . (flächenheizleistung for the germans) this area-heat-output is measured in Watt per squaremeter. so, by setting the wanted heat-output you determine the temperature you want to reach with your heating. i fo...

I think it depends on the veneer. I tried it once with bamboo veneer and a laserprinter. My bamboo veneer was only flexible enough in one direction. The printer must run cross to the fiber.

Bataleon has also concave bases, they call it triple base technology (TBT).
