I wet everything out as I am laying up. I use 22oz tri-axial above and below with a carbon strip on top and mat(t) glass on top for binding retention. I tend to get a slight amount of convex in the transition between tips and tails. Talking to the shop I go to most big manufacturers have this as wel...

Having the coating on the wires for a heat blanket melt and short out when contact made with the aluminum. Fortunately I had installed fuses so was left with just the top blanket for the rest of the press. So I recommend either leave the wired portion of the heat blanket out of the way of heat and p...

Ya still experimenting with it for now but the idea is to get everything down quickly. It made super flat skis on the last pair so I'll try it again over the next couple days and compare. I found otherwise the middle (underfoot of the ski) stays warm a lot longer. I had the opposite issue however, m...

I agree with Brazen's comment. How are you cooling them? The metal edges are a bit heat sync and will cool much quicker than the rest of the material. I cool mine down to room temp immediately after pressing. Otherwise the thickest section of the ski will continue to bake much longer than thinner se...

Twiz what type of fibreglass were you guys using back then? A matt of something like MM is using (biax with matt backer). I currently use just a matt but just want to make sure it is as strong as possible. Idris thanks for the tip on epoxy, I didn't realize it made such a difference. I guess that is...

Free shipping confirmed in Washington. It is just based on their paint delivery schedule but it seems pretty regular. They also has a distribution place in Vancouver so if arrangements are made in advance that is also possible.

Ya Debbie is the person I spoke with. QCM EMV 0043 is now called 218 S000 and ECA 032 is now 212 K003. Don't quote me on it but shipping appears to be free in Washington because of the paint deliveries they do. Saves on the dangerous good fees!
