Snowboard Cores Supplier?

I'm coming around to placing an order for snowboard cores. First, can anyone reccommend a supplier? Second, anyone interested in splitting an order with me and hopefully keep the costs down? Have used some cores from snowboardmaterials.com before, and had good experience, but want to make a bigger o...

Copy from 'Equipment/Tools' - Grindrite ST800, good deal

Thought I'd share: I was all over this at first but it seems it's just too narrow for what i want (5 3/8" stone). It seems like a great deal, needs a little love (Autofeed is in parts) but the stone is apparantly new. Manual dresser, which is apparantly good as the automatic wasn;t great on tha...

I GOT THIS SHIT! Are you noticing the dimples AFTER you clean and tap the inserts? If so, you are getting too aggressive with the tap. Do it finger tight only, then STOP. i did this an embarassing number of times before i figured it out, and was the source of many screams of rage and tears (of frust...

Share on a Crown Plastics Order

Notwithstanding my recent post about Crown's prices rising (I would hardly expect them to get cheaper every year).....

About to order base material, anyone want to go in on a color that really pops (safety orange, bright yellow, etc)? Looks like the minimim is 300m.

Crown Plastics, Prices Up?

Just heard base material is around $7/m, with a minimum order of 300m. Both these seem way bigger than i remember ($4-5m, 200m min).

Anyone else heard anything?

Tipfill Designs

Here's a question: I currently cut my snowboard wood core straight accross at the contact point, then I layup with place a straight piece of tipfill. I've noticed that some ski manafacturers apepar to do this, and I've also heard it's common in snowboards. I once asked someone if they thought the se...

Been hearing rumours for a while about some new material Crown might release as a topsheet alternative. Supposedly very hugh clarity/ I assume it'll be UHMW so peeling woudl still be an issue.

Maybe a very low angle bevel would help reduce peeling?

Profiles sound about right, defintily a stiffer board. I woudl be careful with the wdith...addding 10mm is HUGE. Unless you're bigfoot and your groomsmen are the Yeti, the abominable snowman and a clown, I'd leave the wdith and sidecut exactly where it is. Never Summers tend to be a mm or so above t...

Yeah, I'm using the ECA032/EMV043 and so far, I'm very happy with the results. I guess my only beef is the viscosity. I heat up my epoxy for a while before layup so its easier to mix in the hardener and wet out. It doesn't take much heat to go from molasses consistency to something workable though,...

Not sure if it's true or not, but i heard some spooky things abut acetone, MEK etc contributing to sensitization to epoxy. i use de-natured alcohol and have found no problems so far. i also handle everything with gloves, gave up eating chips while working on boards, and let everything dry out a good...
