Harrison Empires
It’s been well over six month since I started on this ski building journey, and now it’s finally time to get some of this stuff down and recorded. To make this a little more fun you should open this link in another window and let it play in the background: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z9bPrUark4 ...

Awesome press Kam. I think you got a fairly good deal on the steel since I spend more than that I my press is considerably smaller (I think using W16 beam increased the cost a lot). My steel also came from a yard and had a “nice patina” on it. I started to clean it up but after only a minute decided...

Winterstick did some pretty amazing stuff through the 80’s and 90’s. I grew up riding on one of their boards and it’s still going strong. (On a related note I had a chance to get a swallowtail from one of their investors for $180 new, I passed and I am still kicking myself). Chicago- I think if you ...

A lot of things went wrong when i was pressing my first skis. Luckily this is one thing that went very right. My sidewalls are ABS the I procured from a local plastics distributor. I would tend to think that it isn't very high grade since a 4'x8' sheet cost only $150 even with haircell treatment on ...

Great work guys. One question: When you first put the core on the mold I noticed that it was suspended between the tip and tail molds, the camera then cuts our and when it comes back the core is securely fastened down. Was this just using the stickiness of the epoxy or was something else involved? T...

Camber
G-man From what you wrote it sounds like you are touring on your skis? I know the seasons been rough there in the sierra's (and Utah) but have you ever had your high camber skis in really dry, light untracked? I am asking because I have heard that it is possible to have a good powder ski with camber...
