at the time I needed heat blanket they was uploads of $500 ea this why many people, myself included, was building Their own. You can find long discussion thread on this subject. Conversation I remember blankets around $150 each. From China built to your specifications

another option for the future buy heat blankets. They're not expensive nowadays from China. My shop is not normally heated and when started that exactly reason (problem you have) I went with heat blankets and heated table. Now if I need to I can press the skis when temperature in my shop barely abov...

I built a pair for a friend about same age nothing different from any other skis. I built. However he tried first and picked what he like. His skis end up slightly softer compared to want he tried I'll try cork/rubber sheet just above the base in one of my other carbon skis soon. I'll be interesting...

if you concern about amperage for the blankets 15A for two blankets if you're using120v definitely not enough. You might want to consider to switch 220v. HEPA vacuum as suggested absolutely waste of money for this kind of job. Cyclone dust collector is a way to go. I would say at least 1.5 hp. I'm using 2 hp dust collector with cyclone attachment. If flash cutting done inside the shop which many people do outside dust collector alone is not enough yo...

Are you using heat blankets only on one side? Sure way to get surprise camber or reverse camber.

On your temperature controller. Research "line voltage thermostat" 110v or 220v simple and effective plug-and-play some of them included thermocouple. I've been using one of those for years

Nicely done! On mixing epoxy: mix as much as you want at the beginning, then divide it into multiple cups. As for Camber I appreciate that tip on that. what went wrong in your first try with the mold? MDF ribs mold construction not simple to make flat surface not to mention heat blanket can do number on MDF making it even worse. as for equipment. I suggest buy old industrial equipment like tablesaw band...

Any beginner tips or feedback on my current design/plan would be greatly appreciated concentrate lesson ski design. Concentrate more on setup shop and get needed equipment. Don't over think it. You mentioned camber. When building my first pair skis camber section of the mold didn't come out as well...
