Nice - I was thinking of how to do this as well - have you done your layup yet? To make this come out of the press nice you will need a clever way to hold it in place thats for sure. Also in the layup would you cut the fiberglass long and run over and under the end piece, or end it flush right befor...

My method which is copied from someone on here was to keep the camber locked but have replaceable tip/tail blocks. The key thing is that the tip and tail block is milled to fit exactly on the bottom camber (it may need a slight curve) and also the end is exactly the same width of the mdf sheet that ...

Thank you... one more question. Do you do the happy monkey method of leaving wood on either side of the core (see link below for reference), or do you cut the core out to shape then glue the sidewall to the core?

@ PMG - I have a few questions about this method. Bit unclear in my mind on how this is working exactly; 1/ My understanding is that you channel out one shape which is the same shape as the ski core plus width of the sidewall. The mold also has the same profile, but reversed. You clamp the profiled ...

I have a mogul and generally happy with it. Works great for cutting MDF and I also have a drag knife that works great. No issues at all. Over the winter I was experimenting with profiling bamboo cores with the Mogul and the machine seemed to handle it alright. I did have some cores come out not perf...

Amidnightproject on this forum and one other guy have one. They both seem pretty happy, but the machine has its problems (ie one of them had the Z-axis wander while cutting mdf probably due to the high cutting forces which caused the z-motor to lose steps). Yep. Z axis doesn't have enough torque to...
