tip spacers

did i read somewhere that you can use base material as tip/tail spacers?
i would imagine it would somewhat depend on your core thickness..

the wood peices were to hold the base in line with the core.. my partnerr didnt like the idea of using little dowels int he core.. although i thinkill do that next time.

a TGI is used in flooring of houses.. its the large beams that hold the floor up.

we are making kinda capped i guess.. just wood straight sidewalls.. the only thing that is critical to keep in line is the core and the base..

we are either goign to have to make a casset. or how do you screw them down? wouldnt the screw be under the top sheet and stuff?

layup positioning

so we are going to be pressing both pairs of skis this weekend.. and was just wondering if there are any tips out there for keeping the layers in line, like not slipping off to the side? or does that not happen? (we dont have sidewalls to nail into)

the last pic is our core profiler. it makes the base thickier in the middle and thinner at the tip and tail , it gives the shape of the base.. so after this past weeked we planed all 4 bases and cut the side cuts into them. my demensions are 131-99-121 when i was drawing the sidecut (freehand and me...
