There IS a standard, ski length is measured flat before bending. A couple of companys (mostly US) just don't care about the standard.

Skis are measured along all it's curves, tip end to tail end. This has been the traditional way sice skis are made flat and then bent. it doesn't add much to torsion rigidity, but it definately makes a different ski, the skis have a pretty damp and solid feel to them.

.. and it is much simpler than it looks..

It's Alu. (titanal), so soft it doesn't harm your edges, so hard it doesn't wear down or chip.

10mm strips die cut into the top sheet before layup.

This happens with too low pressure. solution: build a real press, use heat. BS If there is correctly mixed epoxy and a clean bondable surface you could simply lay the topsheet down and walk away for a day and you would never get it apart.
