edge release for tip spacers?

Never used tip spacers before but going to start using them. The one thing I'm unsure of is there a need for a edge release on them like the ski cores?

Wood for cores preference

Its been a while and we all have our own methods of making skis, so why not find out what everyone is using for cores. Currently for me It is hard maple and bass wood, it is a good balance for the stiffness under foot and the flex and low weight on the ends. And a few skis with one solid piece of po...

What paint to use under fiberglass and epoxy?

Looking to paint my cores but what should I use that won't harm the adhesiveness of the epoxy and fiberglass? Oil based paints ? Water base paints? Colored pens?

Light weight fiberglass

Looking for lightweight fiberglass. I know that you can get can buy light weight fiberglass from surfboards shops but apparently that kind of fiberglass isn't good for ski building because it isn't made to bend and flex. What would be a good 5oz and under fiberglass?

I called crown plastics and asked them what they recommend to get the best result. Cut the base to length let it flatten out and prior to cutting to shape hit the sanded side with a flame to relieve stress.

Had this happen to me for the first time, no idea what caused it to happen. I cut my bases to shape and attach edges at a later date, while i wait i press the bases down with weight. Really posting to see how guys like on3p store skis with edges attached and not worry about wrapping. http://i63.tiny...

Anyone willing to part with scrap base material?

Instead of buying a huge roll of it I figured I would just ask on here and see if any one has left overs that they are willing to part with. I only have black base and they need some color added in.
