Using white backcoat on graphics

I'm using plotter paper for my graphics, but noticed in my last build that I got some translucency when it was wetting with the epoxy. I was thinking of doing an acrylic white backcoat on the paper this time to help minimize that. Any thoughts on how effective this is and if it will effect adhesion.

I guess technically it was polyester PBT. Normal clear topsheet material.

My thought was to not change the existing skis but make a new pair. I was thinking a quick clearcoat over top to add UV resistance, but wasn't sure if it was necassary.

Fliberglass instead of plastic top layer

Had some delamination issues with a PTEX topsheet. Was thinking of going with just a light 2oz fiberglass protective layer for the next build.

Anyone done this? How did it hold up? Did you treat the surface since it has exposed epoxy on it?

change camber mold to tip and tail rocker

Was thinking about adding a little rocker to my skis, but I don't want to have to cut a new mold. Was thinking I could use some MDF board spacers to create the rocker by placing them under my metal casette. Any thoughts? Wil this leave a sharp corner if not profiled perfectly?

That is about spot on for an all mountain ski In The west. If you look at most of the popular skis they are about a 98mm underfoot.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure how it would hold up to the bamboo.

I see his rpm setting, but what kind of feed rates do you normally run for profiling the cores

What router bit to use

So I'm going to be using the 4x8 CNC router table at a local machine shop co-op to thickness profile my skis. Since I'm going to be using bamboo as my core what type of bit will I need. I assume carbide, but is there a bit style that will work well for using bamboo flooring as the starting core. Was...

Thanks for heads-up on clubworkshop. I'm actually think I'm going to get a punch card or a 3 mon th membership and make a bunch of thickness profiled bamboo blanks. That way I can change the sidecut/widths at home with my normal template and router. Let me know if you want to do any cost sharing on ...

I would also be interested in this service. I happen to be in Colorado as well. Powderfactory if you are setting up a run I would be interested in piggybacking off it. Let me know

If you can get the edges close to the shape of the skis you should be able to superglue them. I used just pliers and was able to get good results. Couple of things you need to make sure to do. 1) Make sure you are trying to glue to the flame treated side of the base. The other side won't stick. 2) C...
