Welcome! That sounds like a thorough plan. I'm curious if you'll be able to follow through with it or if you secretly slip into Trial and error mode ;-) Be sure to keep us updated here. It's always nice to learn new methods or just see a new cnc router being built. You are probably able to use the U...

How would the vacuum shift the core towards the middle? The film or Membrane presses the skis onto the mold. Even if you have a little bridging that won't push the core to one side.
I'm pretty sure it's your effort to push out air or you somehow misaligned base and core.

Great looking skis! That's a pretty similar layup to what I used in this years free tourer. I just used the heavier UD flax. Up to now I only Hand flexed them and gave them a knock by Hand to hear how they sound. To be honest it sounds pretty much the same as the all carbon ski from last year. But I...

I'm really curious about the outcome! It looks like you have a full thickness sidewall from tip to tail. Is there a reason you don't use the semi cap construction anymore? Do you still Laminate in two steps? What's you lay up going to be? Sorry for that many questions, but with your Elaborate plans ...

So your sidewall thickness is just 2.5mm? I hope you have found a good way to align your cores.
Still I wonder how you deflash your cores and how you manage to bevel the sidewalls.
Why do you build your cores in such a complicated way?
It seems overly complicated.

I'm pretty sure I use the exact same blades. But still it gets very hot and the abs even melts.

All skis have sidewalls with cap in the tip and tail. The powder skis on the right have a poured sidewall. The other two pairs have ABS sidewalls. Am I the only one hating to deflash skis with ABS sidewalls? For the next skis I'll probably reduce the sidewall section to about 60cm and use a reduced ...

I've looked around for quite some time and have not found anything either about resin infusion of skis. To be honest it's a lot more extra work compared to a normal Hand lay-up. I mainly do it because I like to challenge myself. After a bit of testing I've found a method to distribute the resin rath...

For my taste 11.3mm would make for a ski on the sloppy side even with 100mm under the bindings. Depends a bit on the cores.
I've only built one pair with similar dimensions so far. At a core thickness of 12mm i used 800g/m² Carbon quadrax on top and bottom laminate.

Very ice looking skis. Bummer that one of the top Sheets is out of Position. You'll be able to fix the bubbles in your top coat. But the tops will get scratches no matter what if you ski them and make them a bit more ugly. I hope you treated the aluminum somehow. I tried a similar Thing and the bond...

I'm pretty sure it's not worth experimenting with asymmetric skis. When skiing most of your weight is on your outer leg (in a turn) which automatically bends that ski more than the inside ski. Now to have both skis exactly parallel you'd have to factor that deflection in as well. Also the distance b...

On mass production skis many times .. unfortunately. But dont know if the resin makes a difference with things (impacts) like this http://blastinc.net/skibuilders/IMG_3147.jpg I wouldn't call that impact damage. It's rather some form of scraping/abrasion. If the base would not have been completely ...

Thanks for posting your skis!
If I remember correctly you are also based in NRW. Would love to see your skis in the real world. Interested?

I know I'm a bit lazy in that area myself, but it would be great if you posted some photos and wrote a Little bit about your skis.
Thanks in advance!
