yep. I stopped reading that forum a little while ago. its a bunch of know it alls and "core" skiers trying to prove themselves. but, hey, they're super cool and all... good for you for holding your own! I agree with the others. go tear those bad boys up on the slope, let them fall to piece...

the whole piece of metal covered in rubber? i looked at a pair of my friend's mantras last week and flipped them upside down. it had a clear base and you could see the bottom layer of metal layed up inside. from what i saw it looked like it was just placed in there but it would make sense to have ru...

lol. as always much appreciated montucky. I was downtown today and stopped by daves place at grace skis. we chatted a little about metal and he said similar things. that even with big name skis he's taken big landings and ended up with a permanently bent ski. and you know that they're using the good...

i'm picking up some .3mm samples (whatever the american equivalent is of that size) from alreco this week in denver. they seem to have an enormous selection. i could get that thickness in 2024 or 6068(?). i looked up the stats on these and it seems the 2024 was better. at least from the info i got. ...

Hey whats the scoop on that socrep? i have a friend that was using it last week but i didn't go too far into it with him. when i looked further into it it seems like it can be tougher and have a nicer finish, but that the coating on it would actually wear with time. i got the impression if it was so...

hey guys, i live out in golden and just signed up at the club workshop last week. i haven't had a chance to use the cnc there yet but for the cost ($99/month) it probably works out to be the same cost, if not cheaper than paying somebody else to do the work for you, plus you have access to all the o...

That makes perfect sense. because not only is it snapping on the joint for the spacer but it follows that weave perfectly along the snap. I don't really remember how I came across it. I didn't know that about the woven though, makes perfect sense. I had gotten some 16oz triax carbon last season and ...

Really. Here's the link for the composites I've been using. I had one snap, like I'm referring to, and one had no tip spacer and i ski'd last week on it with no problems other thean I wanted it softer. http://www.uscomposites.com/carbonpage.html The delam was usually in the top sheet, sometimes unde...

Yeah there's a good amount squeezing out. But anything under 1500g I was getting delam. And with a clear topsheet it was full of tiny air bubbles between grains. Its a basswood core with two ash stringers underfoot. I have a friend that used the super sap in his layups and he said he really dislikes...
