Hi, some things come to my mind regarding the weight: I don't think your skis are heavy regarding their surface area. if you want to use it as touring skis, then yes, they are a bit heavy. Hi, the one in the picture has many cutting edges - they do not perform well in wood and chop it. I'd go for one with 2 or 3 cutting edges only - they work well enouth in both wood and metal in my experience. I have one with 3 edges and it works both wood and metal very smooth.
