Hey nice update a year later. I like the idea, I'll give it a try on my next build. This is still something I'm struggling with. Now have heat and have made several pairs from slow ramp to 15 minute cure and results are hit and miss. Some skis seem indestructible, and some start peeling after a coup...

This is genius, wish I'd thought of it. Tubes are ~$5-10 a piece, reusable http://g01.s.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1mcydGXXXXXa0XVXXq6xXFXXX7/200887857/HTB1mcydGXXXXXa0XVXXq6xXFXXX7.jpg Put it in one of these http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/416fGg5fOaL._SX342_.jpg Add a $1 static mixing tip. No more ure...

I get most of my cloth from Composites Canada outside of Toronto. Shipping is a bit of a pain, but they're ok to deal with and usually have what I need. Coast Fiber-tek is decent in Vancouver area. IPP can get stuff in an emergency, but they're prices are whack. Also Noah's in Toronto will ship too....

Yeah, we're on the same page. I will try slightly pre-curing the core and veneer if I can't manage with heat alone. There's some downsides to doing this though, both on process flow side, and in higher risk of both contamination and not getting the timing right and ending up with a bigger mess I thi...

Richuk, thanks for the feedback. Re viscosity, the 3663 hardener is 35cps compared to 150-200 or so for the other ones, so mixed resin even thinner still which may be contributing. Datasheets are all stated for room cure, but supplier assures they have customers getting good results with heated fast...

If you cook the ski for an hour, your good. Its the long press time and no heat that bleeds the resin. Ok, that makes sense. I will up the priority on temperature control before the next pair and see if heat helps. Its up there anyways because I'm sick of running a space heater and waiting 8 hours ...

So the question is how do I stop it from squeezing out? Do I press at really low pressure till it gels then crank it up? Lower the pressure overall? Layer of veil on top of the graphics under the topsheet to hold some resin? These were pressed @ ~55psi, same as all the others I've done, straight to ...

I didn't try the Duravision5050 yet but even CrownPlatics told me it's less durable than other topheet materials. However I don't expect it to peel and kinda delam like in your pics. Do you sand/round the top edge all around your skis (edge between the topsheet and the sidewalls) ? On my first buil...

Aight, questions about topsheet peeling/delam. What am I doing wrong here? Easy answer is don't cross skis as much since most of the damage is directly related to the edge of the opposite ski, but that doesn't explain tips and tails peeling off. This is after just 3 days on snow. The fact that the v...

Thanks for all the comments guys! Hands down best pair I've made. Makes the long stressful weekend in the garage worthwhile. Graphics were a last minute Saturday morning program that ended up taking all dded day. I needed them in the press by Saturday night to allow time to cure, clean up, and get t...

Been a hectic several weeks since last update. dded up first split so had to start over. Lame. Second one turned out decently though. http://forum.vwsport.com/pics/data/500/medium/IMG_3793.JPG First wall ornament, was paying so much attention to keeping the inside edges aligned and the core straight...
