tuning split boards

Hey friends, Not a builder question but a question on tuning a split. Do you tune the inner edges? Do you tune just between the bindings? My split (home made) seems to grab a little on the flat and I think its from when I had it tuned last winter. Another issue you might know about. As above, I gues...

Rancid - Rancid (2000) is such a great Album. One of my favourites of theirs.

Hi mm and vinman,
Do you Hot glue directly to the spoil board?
Have you ever left tabs in the 2d contour?
I'm keen to see how it goes.

Hey Sammer,
Thanks for the reply.
I am going to be using 2 different drawings so even if it wasn't centre mounted, It should still work as long as I get my measurements spot on.

Im going to try and do a couple of test cuts soon. The CNC is 2 hours away.

Will let you know.

cnc question

Hey guys, So my Mums partner has just about finished his CNC build. It's not a ski core length long (about 1 metre). I am using Fusion 360. I plan to have two dowels in the spoil board and then have 2 holes in my core stock (bamboo) to align the core. Once one end is done I will spin the core and do...

Hi Chrismp, thanks for your answer. Mach 3 over mach 4 hobby?

Any tips for new players?

My friend is currently building a CNC. He is great at all the fabrication stuff but needs some help with the computer setup stuff. I am attempting to help but don't really know either. A question, As F360 tool paths and then creates the Gcode, do we still need something like Mach3? I would think no ...

Took my splitty for a test ride. Skinned out of Falls Creek (Australia) to a place called pretty valley. It has a hut and drop toilet. Camped overnight and then skinned him. I took it for a few runs and am really happy with it. One question for all the splitters out there. Do you get movement betwee...

Split board question regarding base level

Hey everyone, I have my split board 90% put together now. I have a little issue though. With voile hooks and plates attached the base sits slightly lower on on side than the other. Its about half a mill but its pretty noticeable. I was thinking I would sand the top a little to lower the hook on the ...

I don't know that much about snowboards but I think that is going to be stiff. A 160cm ski with 13mm thick core tapering to 3mm is prob going to be pretty stiff. Just reading back through the thread some of the other guys that have built splits said that you don't need to significantly increase cor...
