G-Man, We tried to hold the base down with weights which we moved to keep them away from the router path but the Ptex wouldn't lie flat. It would curl up when cut resulting in scalloping along the edge. For now I would be happy with making a template and using my hand router. So I tried last night t...

G-man: I remember that you we starting down the CNC path last spring and I had hoped you would have beaten me to this point cause I have no knowledge in the CAD/CAM realm. My son Cal (*Armada*) built a 8 foot CNC router for his high school senior project. It languished (95% complete) on the dining r...

WheezerWare
Here is my first attempt at creating software that can create G-Code to control Cal's homemade CNC machine. Right now all my arcs are radial but I will be adding more capability in the future.

A picture on the home page of SkiBuilders! Even better than getting your picture on the cover of The Rolling Stone. I really enjoyed meeting up with Kam (Big) and Ben (powdercow). Both are awesome skiers. At first I thought Ben didn't bring his homemades cause they looked flawless. He really does ni...

Calvin (*ARMADA*) and I are skiing SLC 3/16 - 3-19. 4 of Cal's friends are coming as are my two daughters ( and a boyfriend) from North Carolina. I'd say that we would love to hook up with you, but my daughters always give me a funny look when I use that term. We have rented a house off Wasatch Blvd...

College Choice
Since most of the SkiBuilders community are rabid skiers and many of you are Mechanical Engineers, I'm hoping to pick your brains. My son Cal (*ARMADA*) is a senior in high school, planning to major in MechE in college. He has been accepted to all the schools to which he has applied. (SUNY Binghamto...

Armada and I have started pressing at 60psi figuring if a little bit was good then alot must be better. I think 60 is way over board. I still have the indent from the 2 sided tape embossed into my ski. Plus the press frame had noticeable distortion. We now use 45psi but I suspect 30psi would be suff...
