wtb or source topsheet in europe
Hi! Where do all you EU builders source your topsheets? I'm interested in a 50m roll of 50cm wide clear stuff for kiteboards. UHMWPE / PA / PBT, anything goes...
Would anyone sell?
Thanks!

Thanks gardner and twizzstyle, excelent advice from both of you! I'm using SW2011 and did not realize I have a simple FEA tool hidden in there... I found out quickly the first design was seriously light. I've never had to design stuff like this so the forces were kind of a surprise. After a bunch of...

press sketch - should this hold?
Ok, so here is my design for the press frame. I'm using two pairs of 80x40x3mm steel beams. My gut feeling says this should do. Anyone here with more steel (bending) experience care to comment? https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-AFKHMlZOU2s/Tt94-8GtzrI/AAAAAAAAAuQ/MOObv4g4uw8/s720/muotti%25252080x40...

Anyone got material in stock in EU? Anyone about to order from bigger suppliers?
ps No offence skibuilders.com, just trying to avoid customs and shipping if possible... also haven't heard back from Boardbuildingsupply.com.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I get that but putting a pressure inside a pres is a risk to the pressing machine. And I don't really get if 4bar/60psi is a lot of force or not, I think it's pretty much... 4kg/cm2 is 40'000kg/m2 inside the press with 1m2 mold area. Does that mean it's equal to puttin 40t of mass in the press...

I ride a Buell but otherwise I see your point... Didn't mean to brag, sorry ;) I found older threads about this, even with exactly the same kind of machinery we have in pics, but they weren't very descriptive about what the outcome was. I'm concerned about uneven pressure distribution. Part of it mi...

using m + f molds
Hi! I have acces to a lot of machinery viá dayjob and I'm currently in design stages to building a few skis as a side project. We have a large oil-heated hydraulic press used to glue veneer sheet to mdf sheets forexample, and a nice CNC machine. Seems to me it would be most practical to model the sk...

painting old skis
I just ordered new Gotamas for the winter and now I'm planning a paint job on them. My plan is similar to forexcample painting a helmet: sandpaper, baselayers, laquer, graphics with acryl paint (or epoxy inks?) and playing with base/top colour, then more varnish on top. I have acces to industrial st...
