Sorry I meant to say flame treat your base not heat treat. Some folks don't bother and don't have too many issues but it is a process which makes the ptex bond better, polyethylene is one of the hardest materials to bond. I remember watching a ski factory video they had a huge flame with rollers on...

I went to joann fabrics today and got my graphics and a breather sheet for the vacuum bag. Together they cost $28 but I saved $18 so it was only $10. Use the spare time getting all your gear sorted. Anything you thought could be neater, do it while you wait. Bend your edges, cut your glass, is your core profiled, are you heat treating your base? Always something to do, well I always seem to have heaps to do LOL. I would but I haven't even ordere...

After waiting all week for the pump to come (supposed to come tuesday-friday), I just looked at the tracking and he just shipped it today. Guys been selling on ebay since 1999 and has about 5000 feedbacks left and it took him a week to drop the package off at the post office. very frustrating.

19mm down to 7mm... it's over 60%! :) They didn't have any thinner planks? They didn't, I was going to cut it in half vertically but the only thing I could do it with is a table saw and I didn't want to risk messing up the wood by cutting it crooked or anything. I'm trying to understand what exactl...

So a few good and bad things happened today First off, I went to Home Depot and picked up a 1"x12"x6' poplar for the core. Then A miracle happened; as my dad and I were picking it out, my neighbor just happened to walk by and asked what we were doing. He is an avid woodworker and has all t...

I often rest my mold on old guitars as well :) I don't really. Did you make that? It was the only thick and long enough piece of wood within reach so I just used it. I made it out of a 2x8. I was really bored couple months ago and I really wanted to learn to play the guitar so I shaped up the body ...

Mold build

Been working hard everyday and am almost finished with the mold. I had to get some 2x4s (for middle camber) and a 2x6 (for tip and tail). Since I can't cut through the 2x4 quickly, I tablesawed it in half vertically making it .75" thick and making it workable. I then copied the template to the ...

Hi, the 2660 can be used as both. The compressor cam deliver up to 3 bar pressure. But to be honest, its much more a vacuum pump than a compressor. So if im using the vacuum, do I have to plug the compressor so it doesnt blow out air or is the compressor in the same connection as the vacuum? Sorry ...

To be honest I don't know - must be quite the same. It sucks the air out really quick and is very close to max. vacuum after about a minute. We work at an altitude of 850 meters, so we get less pressure difference. With this pump, we achieve about 870mb, so 8700kg/m². (Calculate it in hg yourself i...
