Re: Tip and Tail Fill for Rockered Skis

I usually cut core slightly behind apex of the tip curve. 15-20cm it depends. As I do hardwood sidewalls and paulownia core, it usualy cracks just behind this spot because of the tension it makes when it bends.

Designing different lengths of the same ski

Hi everyone,
How would you design different length of the same ski. What would be your focus on? Keep the radius same, or width? Would you vary different length of the tip and tail rocker, or keep rocker sections the same and only shorten or extend mid section?

Re: epoxy cure time

With the first pair, I used to cure it in a car parking on the sun. Later I made hotbox from plywood, glued insulation with silver foil inside and heat it with 4pc 100w light bulbs.

What Im thinking right now is to glue some inserts in (probably in all holes even the good ones on both skis) and overlay this crack with another layer of carbon. (or flax?)

Pawlonia is way too soft for binding retention, I tested it on my own skin. Fiber layer cracked 'cause practically was the only thing that hold in plase the screws.
Yep, thats what I figured out. Wont do the same mistake again.[/quote]
So the question is if its possible to fix it somehow... :(

Cracked veneer topsheet

Hi, my friend pull out binding. First I thought it is just cracked veneer but I just found out it is also Flax/CF layer cracked. This is paulownia core with no special reinforcement. Just extra layer of FG. It is actually only one pair I made without hardwood reinforcement under the binding. I think...

gav va - did you tweak it somehow? Software or harware? Or what settings did you use? I have exact same one but the veneer doesnt go through the manual feed.
Thanks
