Re: How Long To Press Skis with No Heat

I may not be the best resource because I have been “one day away” from pressing my first pair for months haha. I assume this has to do with the set and cure time for your epoxy. Check out the specs on your epoxy/resin for whatever temp you plan on pressing!

Re: Happy Monkey's process

Over-bending the edges.... Is this done because minor adjustments are easier for re-straightening than for bending? Am I on the right track here?

Here is a new question!

Is anybody beveling their sidewalls with a band-saw at the same time as flashing the ski?

My band saw has a tilting table. Seems like it would be pretty straightforward to follow the edge with ~10degree tilt.

Potential downside? Thoughts?

I don't know why I felt like I was going to need to remove it before pressing!!

I'll probably hot glue AND have a stringer, because I am paranoid.

Thanks

Protecting sidewalls while profiling

I know this has been posted before (probably several times) but I truly cannot find it: Do you guys find that running a wood stringer outside of your plastic (UHMWPE whatever lol) sidewalls is effective for protecting them from being destroyed during profiling? If so, how are you all attaching this ...

Last fall I spending pretty much every single hour of free time on this forum reading everything I could... the addiction was already real befor...

When you get a chance I’d be interested in seeing a sketch or photo of this weird sidecut haha! And maybe your logic behind it! I’m currently getting really close to my first build! Pneumonia has set me back a couple weeks but I have heat control, Cat track, bladder, and the top and bottom molds...

This is devastating... They should grandfather-in existing users or at least their photo's. I was wondering why there are so many broken photos on this site. The pictures on this site are worth as much as the text or more (for me at least). I mean try describing an edge bender without a picture. Tha...

Right on! I'm glad to hear! Once I figure out a way to get this 2000lb press out of my yard and into my shop, it shouldn't be long before I am pressing! Thanks guys!
