Pre-bent cores using steam

First post --- great forum! I am wondering if anyone has ever pre-bent their cores using steam and then did the lay up of materials before pressing. To me, using straight cores puts the epoxy and fiberglass in a contant state of tension even at rest, maybe even contributing to degradation of the cam...
