Aporx 185#. Normally make skis at 176 is in length. Last powder skis were longer in the 185 - 188 range. The 185 had a standard side cut, no camber and a small amount of rise tip and tail. Skied great however it did not skin very well. I think you need camber for that to improve. Next ski had camber...

reading your post there was a concern about how to hold the base material in place on the cassette. Try using a spray glue on the base material. Should work just fine. Cleans off with your initial base sand. On locating your cores to the base, I route the core for edge relief and also use locater pi...

I don't see "Priceless" as an option? And as a suggestion, Don't leave your computer on, "the boss" may see this and that would be the end of ski building as I know it! Just like the jeep (Just Empty Every Pocket = JEEP)

Regarding Dual Skier post, How refreshing to see someone that has put some thought into, not only the project, but putting it out there (on the forum) with a complete and thorough presentation. Twiz would be a great asset to your project. As he said, check out his journal, read and then read some mo...

tele, At 6'1" and about 180 I tele on 176 all the time at resorts. Just pressed a new ski for powder with a light bit of rise, length for this one is 185 with a rl of 135. My logic on this is: base it on the actual running length of the ski. More rise tip and tail equal less running length for ...

On my skis that have a router pattern in the base had the tops delam after several years of abuse (skiing). I pealed off the top don the the glass layer. Cleaned it up a bit and pressed a new top on. Used cloth as a top layer and seems to have worked fine. skied on them a few times last season and s...

Thanks for the information. To continue on with further questions... If you are not doing full wrap edges, Are you concerned with where your edges end in relation to the tip spacer as it meets with the core? My thought is that you want the edge to run past the tip spacer joint in order to help preve...

Interesting. I was just about to purchase new skins. 1) Looking forward to seeing any ideas on cleaning the skin side as mine have traveled over all kinds of stuff. 2)the revival of the glue really works? My glue is quite gummy now. 3)How did you remove the old glue so you would be able to apply the...

Thanks for the replies. On the issue of the tip spacer, There is no "delam" issue as such. I would say it is a location issue. While moving the layup to the press and sometime durring the initial stages of inflating, the tip spacer rode up a bit onto the core (maybe a 1/16). The tape I use...

Failures?

Okay, I need help. Today my son showed me his skis. Trashed! Now, I expect to see the tops and bases to be beat because he spends his time on the rails and such. However we had a failure with these. It broke on the tail where the core and spacer meet. we did have a problem as the spacer shifted a sm...
