Anybody seen these? Tried them? Lightweight backcountry

It seems like there could be issues with screw retention? I'm just a n00b but I thought I'd throw it out there because I haven't seen it in here.

Meant more to come. Things that went well: Hardboard with rough side up seemed to be a good choice. No grip tape and didn't flex (visibly) in between spacers 'span'. Melamine bottom board slides well through planer and didn't get caught up. Melamine accepted the T-nuts on the underside well (with a ...

Definitely can see how this building thing can turn into a year long process to 1 pair of skis... A couple of pictures from the first test run of the planer sled: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/drotter28/Skibuilding/iphone100711229.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/drotter28/Skibuil...

I see what you mean. That would probably be a better way to do it. The forstner bit is definitely the way to go over dados. Since I already had the 'top blocks' cut, routed and drilled, we went ahead and planed down spacers and then drilled the holes. We've got a 2m melamine piece with 20 alignment ...

Falls- I had that idea too but I was thinking to make a new profile it would be more time consuming to cut to length, plane to thickness, then dado out for bolt head/washer? But I guess it's not much more than cutting to length and planing a wood spacer. Hm I'm thinking for first set up we'll plane ...

O ya, one more thing. THANKS to all of you and skibuilders for keeping all your trials on here. Earlier I was wondering what epoxy we should start with (no heat) and I thought 'OH, QCM is what I've seen before, I wonder what product number', then I found the string about QCM not making any, and then...

Latest update. Got a planer. Glued up a core pair. Cut it up with my skibuilding buddy Nic aka Mustacherides. Started in on the planer sled (falls inspired style). Probably an easier way to do it, and I've read other posts that it's a pain in the ass, but something about it works with my engineer mi...

Well worth the wait. Nice video. Can't wait to see them all cleaned up!

Also-Great start to finish journal. When I feel like I'm getting nowhere I look back at your first couple of posts and compare to what you've built to date. Pretty impressive! When are Crisp Skis going worldwide??!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/drotter28/Skibuilding/Iphone051111161.jpg Around Feb/March. Tried out resawing a scrap ski core glue up with table saw. I don't have a bandsaw yet, so this will have to work for now. Probably am going to have to cut them a little thick and plane off the mismat...
