Problem with Entropy SS CPM

Hey guys, thought I would share. I've been using Entropy for a bit now and have gone through about 15 gallons worth and it has worked great so don't think there it can't be used. I was working a custom board project that had a tight radius on the tip and tail meaning short distance steep pitch like ...

i can't say I know for sure. Sanding it sounds like it would cause the ink to travel or make the material less clear. The setup I saw printed onto base material, I assume it is similar. they had heaters that warmed the base before and after the material came out of the printer. Maybe that helps the ...

hmm before I was building my own I had some boards built with a ptex top that was directly printed on. I don't see delam issues. Working with it on bases today the paint does come off easily, but when laid up there is nothing to scratch the paint because it is concealed in the board. If the material...

i've been using a orbital drum sander to sand down until I see sparks. Seems to do better than my reichmann edge sander. For getting the sidewall to shape I've been using a router. I'm seeing a change in texture toward the end of the pass because the blade heats up. To finish I set up a jig on my ba...

For the guys that are laying up a channel I found this vid from a kiteboard factory. Looks like they have an applicator that takes the bubbles out. The standout to me is that they can machine it afterward. My thickness with the shaped trough isnt' 100% and I can use a router to match the height. Now...

The 780 formula I've been using is bonding great and is pretty damn tough. Montucky, totally valid points. I think the strengths come in dampening and the small amount of flex in the sidewall provides some give over uneven surfaces(in the terrain park). Once layed up, with the rubber sitting inside ...

I changed up the smooth on product I use from task 16 plastic to pmc 780 dry urethane rubber. Way better bonding in our testing. The rubber has transparency compared to the plastic was opaque. These both have the same 80a duro. I used their florescent colors for some of these too. They come out look...

I'm passing a flame over my setup to pull out the air bubbles, it works really well. I don't think the vac setup is the absolute fix Plus 10 min in a pot with a 6 min pot life doesn't add up. I think it is the wood surface that is causes the air bubbles. For a wood channel, I've heard the same from ...

I'm using task 16 plastic. They market it as their durable product. I also like a softer sidewall, it is 80A hardness. Freezing, I don't see much change in properties. Bonding, after toying with it, my results aren't quite as consistent as I want. I think they need to be sanded rougher and flamed mo...

going full time

The time has finally come. I get to quit my job and do this full time. Still more upgrades and tools to buy, but when is there not? I've been ordering cores. I now have a process to make them. Very similar processes to everything here, just with my own twist. I'll post up some projects that I'm doin...

Goode posted this vid. Skip about 2\3 Through.
They are using a press.
The hull of the ski, is where I'm confused.
Does anyone know if there is a base material or is it just epoxy?

No doubt the margins are thin. Man, money is spent the day it is deposited. More tools, more plastic, more resin. A few extra bucks makes an R&D try. Then squeeze a trip out. I've priced it out, me and another guy making are good for making maybe 10 decks a day at 6 days a week at 52 weeks a yea...

Building water skis and wakeboards

I did a search on here, found some leads, but need a little more info. The few vids I've seen, the machine is basically the same as a ski/snowboard press. They just use a Cap mold. I get this for the most part. I really need to think on this process more before I get into the confused parts... Just ...

The smooth on pot life is short as well. When I mix I try not to add air into the mixture. I can see some bubbles when pouring and the first batch there were some small air pockets. I started to pass a flame over it to pull the bubbles out and that is working well. I'm getting a few dots on the surf...
