Not totally sure what you are looking for, but I will do my best. Tip: higher tip keeps them up better and gets the skis over sharp bumps/abnormalities. A sharper radius though will make them slower (due to the sharpness of the curve where the ski meets the ground). A longer rise will likely increas...

Using engineered lumber is a pretty good idea. Looks neat.
P.S. Those look like LVL, not glulam.

Cool thanks. I'll try and find out some more. If you hear anything, it would be great if you posted it. It's probably going to be pretty hard to get any jigs, considering I have as of yet not even talked to them, but I'd like to get some, and maybe, if by some miracle I have a few grand kicking arou...

Do you know any more information about the silent auction? Not like I'll be able to afford anything, but it'd be interesting to see what things are going for.

The biggest ones possible. Here's a link to a beam calculator. Of course, the force in a ski press isn't a nice simple point load, but this should help. I didn't actually end up building mine out of I-beams, simply because after like 4 months of calculating, researching and designing, I couldn't jus...

Well, they claim to have been testing them for quite a while, and soaked the skis for extended periods of time. I have to agree though, I don't think the first batch will be too great. I do think it may lead to some future changes in ski layup, but maybe not. These skis aren't targeted to the vacati...

Line Afterbang - Made like a skateboard

Thoughts? I tried to get some solid analysis of the claims and technology going on Newschoolers, but of course everyone on there thought it would be beneficial to post that they will be a sick ski, then procede to 'explain' by restating marketing claims without any actual description of how this wil...

these skis aren't for speed. if you want a charging ski, you don't want surface. they are for exactly what you seam to think skis shouldn't be for: 'kids to play around on'. And by kids I mean anyone that likes to mess about and have a good time. I don't know. I definitely have a difficult time logi...

okay, so I thought I would have some more to show, but it is taking longer than anticipated for the spray gun, etc. to arrive, so it will be a little longer. I probably shouldn't have started this until I was done. But, like I said, I want people to be able to look at the dates and understand the ti...

doughboyshredder, are you serious? it's not a big deal at all. I think it's perfectly fine to copy graphics... provided you aren't claiming them as yours and aren't selling them. He used the same mold shape as NS too, that's not an issue. Why are you opposed to using their graphic? I assume the imag...

so, when I got home, my camera was dead. I charged it up and came back today though, so I've got a few pictures to add. Nothing particularly exciting, but it is a start. I thought about waiting until I was all finished, then uploading images of the whole process, but seeing as how this is a journal ...
