finishing the top sheet after pressing

What is the best way to clean up the top sheet after it comes out of the press? Can I use a buffer to with a cleaner or polish to make the top sheet shine? What do you recommend?

I have never been so frustrated on trying to keep the sidewalls on during planing. I have tried every glue, sanded and flame treated. Even went and used a friends planer that had brand new blades on it, since mine did not seem to work either. I can plane the wood cores just fine. Isn't there a compa...

I am still having trouble with keeping my plastic sidewalls to stay on when on am profiling my cores. When planing cores, can having to wide of sidewalls be a reason that the sidewalls detach from the wood core when planing?

Okay this might be a dumb question but I need to ask to make sure I am on the right page.

CA glue - the bottle will say CA on it it correct or is it a brand?

So it is okay to glue the sidewalls to the wood with gorilla glue? I thought I was only suppose to use epoxy?

Sorry trying to figure this out, are you then epoxying them onto the wood cores, letting them cure and then you build the ski. Isn't it difficult to clamp them together especially at the end of the cores where it is 2 mm thick?

Is everyone planing the ABS sidewalls when they are attached to the wood core or are you doing it separately. I tried to plane some cores today for the 3rd time and I can not get the abs to stay attached to the wood cores as it goes to the planer. I was close today with only 3 mm to go and then they...

Thank-you for all the help. I cut out my first set of bases today. I used 2 sided carpet tape to hold the ptex to the mold and then cut it with a router.
I will try to post some pictures later.
