Ok, I bought those plyers, and modified them. Seem to work well. Further action on my ski building. I bought the new Bosch router. Then I had to re-build my router bridge, as the new router is bigger than my old one. Last night I made my first snowboard core. I was impressed with how fast it went. T...

Nice looking cores. I haven't got that far yet.
Ans I like the sound of the water blast CNC.
Your company truck for wood transport is cool. I take it you didn't carry I beams for the Press on that.

Looks good! I guess you had inspiration from the bender Apex are using? The modified tile nippers which are very common on this forum are a great addition to any bender for fine adjustments btw. Plus they cost next to nothing and are easy to make. Yes, I saw the Apex thing and flipped the direction...

The last couple of nights I have been experimenting in my celler making an edge bender. I think I have it working now. Tested on a short piece and can bend it how I want. Tight enough for skis. http://abload.de/img/015skis-234857lds6q.jpg http://abload.de/img/016skis-234925j4stq.jpg It is mainly mad...

Awesome guys, realy enjoying your log. Love the way you are fighting the problems of getting the materials in your country and the unique solutions you are finding for your problems.
Looking forward to seeing the first results... Keep it up.

I recently bought a blue drill, and just love using it. Every now and then it's nice to be a gear snob and get something with a bit more quality than the stuff at the joe bloggs hardware store. I'll probably go for the green bosch router.. as the price difference is just too much. Will have to wait ...

Excellent, So much more interesting for the kids than a book case, or a watch display box or something.

OK, Thanks Tom. The difference in price is €117 for the Green Home series, or €372 for the professional series. Probably for my limited use the green will do... but I do like the robustness and versatility of the blue professional series. Oh well. As usual Champagne taste on a beer budget!.. Maybe I...

Oops, Didn't see the replys here. I got my table finished, and made my first core. It worked like a dream. Vacuum hold down was very good. I could lift the whole table with it. My only problem is my router doesn't have a fine adjustment knob. so getting to 2 or 3 mm was a problem, and I trashed a pr...

The GKF 600 is available here (in Germany) They don't show that tilt base in the available bases though.. It is probably there but hidden somewhere. I just checked on the Bosch site.. the tilt base does come with it.

Ok, New questions: brain picking. I have started designing my ski. I am an aggressive skier and enjoy carving hard on groomed trails at high speed. I currently ski the Nordica doberman GS which shreads. This ski is fantastic on packed runs, but less than useless in powder, crud, soft snow. So I want...

Damn!!! I was doing my second core, and obviously something came loose on my router and it sank a bit, cutting the core right through. At about 30 cm from the tip. Grrrrr!! I probably do need a new router. that one in the photo I have had for about 30 years. It is good, but not very powerfull, and d...

Very happy with the results. It worked perfectly. Here you can see detail of the bridge I built. I added angle iron to make it good and stiff yo I wouldn't get any sag. I also taped up the exposed holes. The board was held so tight I could lift the whole table with it. Great success. http://abload.d...
