MadRussian- I pressed under pressure for 10hrs at 35psi or so and then left them over night, total time about 18hrs.

Thanks guys.
what is FULL care time for your epoxy? You can always experiment to see if longer time needed.

you have full wood core where tips will be subject to a lot of pressure from wood trying to get flat, and if epoxy not fully cured separation is possible. Before trying to change anything in your setup try increase pressure in the hose and/or increased time for epoxy to cure before taking ski out of...

Back to the press we considered the use uf steel H and C bars and it is made so that you can press two skis together using differend moulds (two floors press) These are 1cm thick and this guarantees that it will not bend under any pressure you can possibly reach using air. Pieces are welded . http:...

WTF! I have to stop building boards for a week or so because I have developed a nasty fiberglass rash on both my wrists and down my arm and my face. I use safety glasses, mask, and long sleeve shirts but it’s not enough. I am going to buy one of those NASA space suits to cut and sand fiberglass. Yo...

First check the power supply. Single phase 220 or three phase. Converters are not cheap even if you build one. Width depends on the ski size, If yoour ski is no wider than 6" you would be okay. ra I was told currently 3 phase 220, but machine European and can be easily wired to single face wit...

I would lean toward 14 inches but.. depends primarily on the size of your top/bottom forms.==>forms is next step. At this point I have no idea what size thay going to be.

If your not an engineer, but have read enough from the site then big and heavy means over specification, which gives you peace of mind, provided it is joined together using the right bolts or welding. this is exactly way my press been build. luckily it was enough beams to make press 20" wide a...

press can be made from 2 20". beams and 2 10" beams. Most likely this is overkill.
how about this design? Fabricator have 20 inch beam long enough for two bottom pieces. it going to be huge and heavy.

If the 18" plate is supported by one I beam, then two pressurised hoses would be pressing down on the one plate, which is supported by one I beam. So twice the work for the I beam. if fabricator have another beam appropriate size we will make 4 beams design if not ..... have to go with 3 beams...

you'd be asking the 10" beam to do twice the work. +==> no. Two horizontal plates off 1" steel 18"x96" should provide additional rigidity. Also beams can be additionally reinforced with same 1" steel. Space heater sounds a bit random imho===> yes it is but one has to start s...

I am doing 3 beams design for space saving and availability.I think my fabricator don't have anymore 1/2" beams. may be 1 but this beam 20x6 or 8 I don't remember. I have no plans to add blankets. Instead going to make insulated box with forced hot air and thermostat. In this press design hot a...
