The sidecut is what I was testing. The ride was perfect. I used a full rocker with a double sidecut to help with traction on icy conditions. The middle had a lot of play and stability but when pressed on ice it held tight. I have been trying to match the feel of Never Summers rocker camber base with...

Absolutely! Notice the mismatched tip and tail with visible scotch tape holding the white ptex to the core. Also my handwritten specs in the middle for reference. http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab325/browningboards/photobucket-5966-1321323615531.jpg Here we have a place where the core fell off s...

Do you get a base grind or hand work it to save money?
I have a Grindrite that I can sand down the base and wax it. I am actually using a clear durasurf top sheet(1mm) as my base Ptex.

I am impressed you proto without edges and base!

Great posts! I took proto#2 out today and it worked exactly like I planned! I got a few odd looks because the board is butt ugly but I am super stoked.

I havent tried this yet but you could use all those cut pieces of edge and butt them together along the effective edge.

Prototyping aka ghetto layups

I have lots of ideas on new designs but don't want to spend $$$ to test out all my new designs so I have been building prototypes with the absolute bare minimum. My first prototype consisted of a screwed up core, Ptex sidewalls, top sheets, etc that are in my shop. A whole board built of screw-ups! ...

Reverse Sidecut radius

I am thinking about designing a powder board with a reverse sidecut radius. Anyone tried a board or ski with a reverse sidecut radius? What were the positives and negatives?

What's wrong with the thicknesses? I hope they are incorrect because very little of their stock actually works for our application. Ya, the blue pink swirl was "interesting" to say the least.

Ya, most of it is base. Make sure you buy a thickness that matches your edges. There are many rolls on there that are pretty thin and won't work for the typical 1.2mm rise of edges. I think the conversion for 1.2mm is .051 in. Also make sure its abraided and flame treated. Not all of the material on...

Burton: "Buy Local" Really?

So every time I see the new Burton moto "buy local" it just pisses me off! Seriously, are American buyers that dumb? Coming from the company that produces no boards in America. Their pitch is to buy from Local ski/snowboard shops. It seriously just pisses me off and I figured this is a goo...
