Rossi Scracth Bc is one of my all time favourite skis. I really love those rubber tip/tail spacers. If some of you get price for 2mm vds sheets, please let us know.

i have already tried bandsaw, router bridge, planner and even sander for core profiling. As a i see it any of this methods would be accurate enough for me (except for the sander, of course) if i would be able to find a damn way to hold the core to a negative mold. Negative mold is my target, I think...

I´m planning to build something similar to this soon; springs look like a very good idea to keep router bridge in place. My idea is to build a negative profile mold so i can route flat. Guess i´ll need a huge vacum compressor to hold a 12 mm thick blank core to the negative mold. What do you think a...

Ok, but be careful.... use only urethane rubber.... you can harden it up till 90 a or more with additives...and it looks really well if you use pigmentation (i used orange) . Good option for powder or park skis. If you are planning to build something for hard pack (that was my idea), forget it. Don´...

Well... i have used urethane for sidewalls. Ummmmmmmmm lot of work to do. Casting sidewall can be a pain. On the other side urethane bonds really well with epoxy.

Anyway i´ve seen dynastars, atomics, volkls and salomons totally loosing their camber in one season... major brands don´t worry about this as much as we do on this forum.

Loosing camber was one of the thing I was worried about when started building. I´m still pressing at room temp with unprebent cores and my skis have not shown any camber problem. Well, I actually prebend tip spacers but just because im using two pieces of 1,3 mm base to do this and i prefer to bond ...

Yeah! staples work great for this.... an old pair of made in Sarajevo Elans gave this idea to me.
Once we even tried longer staples to attach the the base to the press. The result are some almost invisible holes in the base.... but holes after all.

Some advices on carbon needed.

A friend of mine gave me 2 square meters of biax carbon ( about 350 g/m2). I have only used triax fiberglass an ud carbon tape in my other pairs. This time I would like to use the same lay up as ever: (from base to top) ud carbon tape 1 or 2 layers of 3ax fiberglass, core, 2 layers of 3ax fiberglass...

Hey 4 pairs tested already... all of them work great but specially the pair you can see at the right. They are really soft but work grat at high speed.... very light, and versatile.

keep working on more pairs. Maybe I start a custom ski company this spring.

I have tested my homebuilts (4 pairs) this winter for the first time. The first day I was very anxious and nervous. But I have used them a lot til now and they work great; no delamination, good performance...
