The cad design looks real good. I think I may have seen some of those long board designs in Montana. I hope someone here makes winterstick shaped skis. It isnt worth it for me to make another pair of powder specific skis given my location and limited skiing time. One of the fun things about making w...

maybe this could help spur even more dialog about what sidecut goes best with a rockered (or not) powder ski. It's a classic apparently. I saw a picture of it in this months Outdoor magazine.

I think im experiencing the same weather just north of downtown here. I was running across the street before the light changed and with the snow on the ground i ended up in the middle of the intersection as i crossed. I also found myself wishing for a big kite although a towel would probably work to...

well i am not in engineering school as was my plan in high school... i don't know what happened... i ended up moving from the Flint area in Michigan to the much nicer yet less ski opportune Chicago. It's my junior year and i have finally decided on an economics/biology double major. I despise biolog...

I almost strapped my skis to my pack and took them on the L (subway), a metra train to the suburbs and ...

so how do people plan on altering their molds to make such skis? Would you cut out the desired shape and make it feasible to bolt the chopped off part back on to allow the pos./neg camber option? Or is two molds better than one?

rockaukum, sorry to hear about your skis, but it is comforting to know that even the pros can't get it right all the time. p.s. I finally mailed your DVDs i promised today. Sorry it took so long. The hose works wonderfully. Has anyone evaluated to use of heat (how much how long) and camber retention...

yeah i have a rivet gun like that but decided to go with the beefer screws. I was thinking about maybe trying to put rivets through some washers to give the bond a larger surface area. Now that i try to picture my press, pinching might be the problem. I think it would be beneficial to widen the spac...

I have completed two pair. The first pair is a tele pair that is all birch wood with a clear topsheet and wood sidewalls. I pressed it using bike tubes instead of firehose b/c i couldn't get any at the time. They held up really well until i landed backwards coming off a rail and edge got ripped righ...

Yeah ebay hasn't been good to me as far as tele bindings go, too little supply with too much demand = high prices. Several people have posted WTB bindings on telemark tips in the not too distant past without too much apparent success. I will keep looking but am still hoping someone here has a pair (...

WTB: bindings

I need some tele bindings. I have checked on telemarktips and ebay and what is out there is pretty expensive. Anyone want to let go of a pair for under $100? I would prefer risers too, but whatever. Something more for the resort type skiing but i could make a more hybrid resort backcountry binding w...

Durasurf told me the min. was 300 yards, i believe which was at somewhere from $6-7/yard. Email them and ask for the excess inventory list and you can buy pretty much any color and length roll for just $2/yard plus shipping. The rolls typically range from 50-150 feet in length but you can also buy m...
