How did you go about making those nifty molds? I need something that thin so that I can just pop it into my vacuum bag. I can't figure out how you managed such precise bends on an aluminum? sheet. I searched the forum for another mention of this type of mold but had no luck. For bending tip and tai...

It reminds me of a wood called ebony black and white. http://www.exoticwood.biz/blackwhiteebonylarge.jpg Don't think you can get ^ that stuff in veneer form tho. If only... The solution is much easier and more environmental friendly....

Regarding the finish with veneer I prefer a sprayed PU finish instead of a clear topsheet. The final look if definitely more natural in particular if you use a low gloss finish. Concerning the UV protection it is possible to use UV shield additive to add to the finish and this really helps in avoidi...

I recently used engineered wood veneer that is pre-stained and the result was fantastic. After pressing I sanded the surface and applied fir some sealer to gurantee adesion and the a poliurethanic base and an high resistence finished. Teak is generally used for boats decking because of the oil that protects the wood from salt and water. Consider that in boat building is commonly used with epoxy without degeasing it. So you souldn't have any problem during curing. Keep in mind that if on one side it is resistent to water on the ot...
