My two cents worth? I've been watching surfboard repair videos lately. Those guy are always spraying waterbase paint under their fiberglass. Now they aren't dealing with the stress related to flexing but they may be a good point of reference. Additionally, I spray painted the top of the clear sheet ...

Instead of rice paper has anyone tried Tyvek? The stuff is tough as nails and it comes in plotter rolls.

Just goes to show that there are no new ideas. I thunk about this a while ago and I have been waiting to try something similar but with cork for its dampening qualities. The difference being that my plan is to have the wood rails wider so that they come together under the foot leaving wedges of cork...

patenting bamboo sidewalls is like patenting the snowboard, ie: "patent pending" by the way my jewels are patented, if yours fall within the same dimensions and shape, you may be in violation, and i may have to come seize your wife and kids ;) Actually, didn't Burton shell out $8,000,000 ...

I'm at the end of ski racing season so I haven't had much time to play with it, but the few short test pieces I tried, did twist a bit. While it's pretty easy to take the twist out, I'm thinking I can mod it a little once I figure out the exact cause; either by bolting down the main die or holding i...

Yes. So far it's been holding up well. I had the skis out twice last week. Friday in 3 inches of slush and Sunday in 16 inches of powder. Good fun!

It's just Krylon Fusion spray paint. It's made for plastic but I have no idea how it will hold up.

Edge Bender Option

If you're looking for an inexpensive pre-made solution for bending edges... It comes with a 4", 3" 2" and 1" die which can be swapped out to give a lot of options. I haven't built a pair of skis using it yet but the test edge I bent today looks good. It can be found at Northern T...
