really cool bases and topsheet! Three questions: 1. when you epoxied the fabric to the base, prior to cutting the shape, did you apply pressure? 2. how did you do those topsheets? did you use fabric as well, or did you get a topsheet printed? I'm kind of assuming you had them printed because of the ...

I've never been to Wawa. My plan is to hit up Jay peak this weekend. Hopefully it won't get hit with the incoming rain.

Hey MR: when you're designing your rocker mold for a 5 dimension ski, like the ones you just pressed, where do you begin your rocker, in relation to the widest point (tip and tail)?

nice looking topsheet! I really like the shape of your skis. You should have plenty of snow to try those out up north for months to come!

There was another post here yesterday as well. Can't remember who but talked about the vertigo feeling of the video. That was a pretty narrow ski out. No sidewalls? Just core edge to edge? sam ha, yeah I think i had the gopro pointing down too far, I definitely got a bit of vertigo watching the bit...

Ski # 6 - clear top and bottom

After making the camo skis i thought it would be cool to make just a clear topsheet, clear base ski to see how they turned out. the shape was: 125-99-111 and based heavily on the DPS wailer in terms of taper at the tip and tail. I was going for a standard no carbon layup with a core profile of 2-12-...

Strange, I don;t see my previous post or any other except the original post from Rightsideways... Anyway. Nice video, narrow trails! Is that in NH? that is weird. Thanks! it was NH. That's Mt. Moosilauke, which is in Warren, NH. The land is owned by Dartmouth College, and the Appilachian Trail goes...

pair 6: the "visible core" skis test. I haven't posted the progress of these skis to my journal page, but, I made a pair of tip/tail rockered skis about a week ago, with no topsheet, and a clear base. I decided to test them in the backcountry and skinned up Mt. Moosilauke, a 4800 foot moun...

The camo tops are awesome! Thanks! I like them too. I haven't skied them yet, but, I hope my brother gives me a chance this weekend. I'm a fan of blaze orange in general and would like to find a supplier of blaze orange base material as well. For these I went with green bases and the sidewall is oa...

delamination!

so I've been skiing on my "don't panic" skis for a few days and I already have some delamination! the delam happened after slamming into a log in a thin section of tree skiing, so it wasn't comptletely random. the interesting thing is that the delamination was actually just the wood splitt...

thanks! they're 143-112-127. I bought the material on ebay it's "poly taffeta" whatever that is. I found some references here to polyester that weren't too optimistic about it's ability to bond w/ other layers, but, so far my brother hasn't seen any delamination. Like I said, i didn't use ...

5th pair out of the press

A week or so ago I pulled my fifth pair out of the press. I made some full rocker skis (same mold as my previous "don't panic" skis) using a camoflage fabric as the topsheet. These were a long overdue present for my brother, and he seems to like them. They turn really well in the woods whi...

have you thought about using a vacuum table to hold the core down for your router bridge? there are a few people on here who've posted pictures of their vacuum table, and I tried to copy this one: http://skibuilders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4445&highlight=vacuum+bases . I use a shopvac for vac...
