We did a snowboard without a topsheet. Instead, we had a graphic printed out on a photo quality laser printer. The graphic covered the entire top of the snowboard, and we simply soaked it in epoxy when we laid up the board. A couple coats of glossy varnish after the board was out of the press, and ...

@doughboy: how's your blanket insulated? is it the standard silicone? if so i guess our insulation isn't that bad, cause we only get small zaps when we don't ground the aluminum sheets.

your core profiling problem could be solved by leaving the core blanks a bit longer than your actual core length and screwing the ends to the router bridge base.
after profiling those parts get cut off when you cut out the final core shape.

well, not really cut to our needs. all we got was the square material. e.g. one sheet of 2x270x1100mm for 16eur, four strips 6x25x1500mm for 21eur and another two strips of 8x25x1500mm for 14eur. we cut the shape of our tipspacers from the 2mm sheet with stanley knives. takes a bit of work but it's ...

we're using polyurethane D44 with 90° shore A for our sidewalls and tipspacers. works like a charm, no delamination. I guess this is getting off topic... but gotta ask. What is your process for using polyurethane (eg. sanding? flame-treating? primer?) Have had no issues bonding it? sanding doesnt w...

we're getting our PU from Asma in Austria ( www.asma.at ). for our first boards we had some sheet PU cut to our needs. price was about 16eur for tipspacers and sidewalls for one snowboard. now we have 2.4kg of PU-resin that cost us 40eur...don't know how many boards we'll get out of it yet. do you h...

we're using polyurethane D44 with 90° shore A for our sidewalls and tipspacers. works like a charm, no delamination. but that stuff is pretty tough to machine, so we're going to try to pour our own sidewalls with it to keep the machining to a minimum. still, we're putting vds above our edges...dunno...

actually some big manufacturer's boards have wooden sidewalls...my völkl squad prime 2008 is an example. the sidewalls are some kind of horizontally laminated wood veneer. i think it's bamboo. it didn't come with any instructions on how to treat the sidewalls, so i guess it's not necessary. so maybe...
