With three 4 inch hoses I have the hoses touching each other and no gap between them where they press on my cat track. So I am pretty close to the same effect as a single large pillow.

After multiple mistakes on the sandboard I finally got it pressed up. Came out heaps better than I thought it was going to. Nice and flat, its now resting on its side for a few days before I trim and finish it off. The only thing I noticed is I might be over pressing. The glass wet out really well b...

I'm using pine. Don't think I'd like to use MDF, its not really that strong. I'm using 3 bladder hoses though so I get quite a spread of pressure over the whole press, If I was using only 1 hose of about 5-6 inches I don't know if I would use wood. It does take a bit of work to prep the wood though,...

The way you were able to delam that whole ski and the only bit of timber that stayed with the carbon fibre was the small pieces around the inserts suggests to me there was no real bond between those layers. I'm only new to this so I quite probably am totally off. I have also considered cedar for a c...

I find the points raised by Richuk about wood fatigue to be the most interesting. After reading it I started researching it and it seems not a lot of technical research is easily available. The stuff about the design and layout of the pores of different wood species is good and seems to really be a ...

Are you pressing your boards upside down?

What material is your topsheet?

Is it the base or top of your board that is concave?

Air will still get trapped using a press if you dont bring the pressure on progressively to swueeze out the trapped air. Kind of difficult to do I have been toying with this idea myself. I have 3 X 4" hoses in my press, so been thinking about pressurizing the middle one first then 2 minutes la...

Would using a press help?
My press is finished, I'm just finishing off other items like my heat blanket control box etc. You are in the same city as me and are welcome to use my press if you want to try that.
We would need to make a mold though.

Those oven type switches sound like they are worth a try. Do you also have a digital temp display at work too? If so you might be set. Im going to set my pid to on/off mode anyway. Variable duty cycle control of a relay is a waste of time, a relay is just an on/off so having your pid trying to brin...

An option you could try is to get the tech details of 790 and call Nuplex
http://www.nuplex.com/Specialties/conta ... -locations
They will probably have something very similar and if so will give you contact info for retail purchases.
Let us know if they have something good too ;)

I've never really been too worried with how the guides on heli days throw the gear around but I think I would get a bit more anal with stuff I had built myself.
Awesome footage though, what a day for it too

Not really much of an answer possible with such little information though. It's like saying "my car makes a funny noise, what is it?" Turn initiation is hard to work out even if you are riding it. To work it out online you would need to give a whole heap of info about shape, profile, cambe...

Dr Delam was doing printed transfers some time ago. Well I'm pretty sure I read in his Journal he was.
You can get proper transfer paper. His results looked pretty good.
