Hey Chrismp, I started off trying to design a CNC router because it seemed like the least expensive way to go. I ended up with a splitting headache and wasting a lot of time. I would recommend buying a kit. There are so many pitfalls with these machines and you can end up throwing away many thousand...

Hey Jono, I would be more then happy to share my files once I get them up complete however my files would be in Gcode. I generate them from snocad and import them to my CAM software that outputs Gcode. Are you making boards or skis? I just finished my first successful core today on my CNC. http://i8...

CNC machines
Hey All, I am pretty damn excited because in a few days I will have my CNC machine up and running! I did a ton of research on these things and spent many hours going the wrong direction and spending money I didn’t need to spend. I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread on peoples CNC expe...

Wow, you put a top notch paint job on yours! Most of my rust is pretty minor and I am too cheap to spend any more money on this restoration. I like your idea of adding a urethane top coat. As I was removing the drum I noticed the split taper bushing had sheared off. I spent days trying to get the sh...

Here is the machine stripped and ready for primer: http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab325/browningboards/sand1.jpg The sanding drums are controlled by a screw and piston looking assembly. On the outside I have a wheel that turns and pulls the steel drum you see in the above picture back to tension...

Hey Redbull, The specs are 3HP, 220VAC, single phase 1725 RPM. the pump motor is a 115 VAC, 300 GPH submersible pump. I noticed in another post you are trying to build your own. If you need any other specs or measurements let me know. These things are expensive so if you can figure out how to build ...

Inspired grinder restoration
Inspired by Twizzstyle's grinder restoration I came across a grindrite ST600 for only $1,200! As-is, it runs great but needs a thorough cleaning, paint job and water system replacement. Hopefully I can make this shine and return her to her glory days! Damn these things are heavy!!! http://i876.photo...
